What happends if I don't have it in "new mode"? It is almost so many kilometer in my old cluster so I don't have to change the kilometers... Or is it impossible to install it at all if it's not in newmode?

Hi,
It'll be impossible for a Seat- (or VW-) dealer to install it, when it's not in "new"-mode. the standard VAG tools they have, can only adjust the mileage and learn the immobilizer from "new" mode. with special tools, the dealers most likely don't have, it is possible to adjust everything even if the tacho isn't in new mode, as far as I know.

@Colt, please correct if I'm wrong

Sorry FlaT_EriC but the "NEWMODE" is not a must to get the cluster working in the new car.

You just need the old Logincode from your car and the code from the "new" cluster.

Tachos kannst bei EGAY, beim Teileverwerter oder sonstwo im www kaufen. Dabei solltest aber auf die richtigen TN achten und vergiss aber die A3 Tachoblende nicht.

It's a lot of time that we didn't talk..

My new tacho is working fine, but i'd like to ask a question to you and to everyone that get installed a FULL FIS IMMO3 tacho on his leon..

If you get one or both rear stop-lights broken-off, do the tacho will display some errors (usually the pre-incandescet icon starts to blink and an engine-error message should apper on the FIS)..In fact several golf 4 owners confirmed this thing (with fis), and several leon owners (with the original leon tacho) confirm this too..
But..

I've tried in all conditions (phisically removed 1 and 2 rear stop-lights and with then engine on, off, lights on, off, tried to push the stop pedal several times,) but my FIS doesn't show any message, and no icon starts to blink..

Do you know why??

Since we had established the fully compatibility between the leon and golf4 tacho (in fact all other message appear as they should, brake oil level warning, parking stop warning while in motion, tank empty, ecc)..Very strange..

Maybe i've to run another kind of wire to get this message to work??

Could someone with the fis in the leon please try and remove 1 / 2 rear stop lights and try to push the stop pedal several times and see what happen??It's a real easy job, it requires 3 minutes to test..

Hi - I also have a full immo3 FIS installed and can confirm your findings - I took one of my breake lights out this evening and did not get any message on the FIS nor anywhere else in the speedo...

How ever - I also do not yet have the connection between tacho and Confort-CAN (meant is a connection with two wires between the control box for the confort functions and the tacho itself) which in my eyes might be the reason why there is no warning beeing displayed... Did you connect the speedo with the control box? (I went some pages back, but you did not mention if you had - or not ) If not, try it as described in post no798 and illustrated by Slot on the pictures you can find here maybe that would/ could help ?(

yes, i've already connected the 2 wirings needed to get the open doors symbol and the light-on warning..

please as soon as you get the 2 needed wirings installed let me know what's happen if you can try..

the Golf IV and Passat 3BG Cluster don't have the "CHECK" function like AUDI..some cluster have but it is not supported from the CCM...

sorry Colt, but this time i can't agree with you.

in fact, i've the same CCM of my friend Geniom (he had a golf IV of 2003 with an immo3 like mine) and when he took out the 2 rear lights, a message of "engine problem" (or something like this, but not check thing) appeared on his fis.Of course this is not the CHECK function like in audi or in the last golf v 3bc leon2 system..But it's always better than nothing..And i'd like to have it..
And furthermore, another friend of mine with the same model of leon i have (L.E.MONZA) with the standard leon tacho, had installed the rear led lights, and in his tacho the preincandescent icon starts to blink, and the cruise control doesn't work.
So maybe the only solution for this problem is that the golf tacho needs another additional wire to "speak" in the right way with the CCM (same in golf and leon) cause the different wirings system (leon / golf)..

What do you think??
