Please excuse my English, but although I can perfectly read and understand German, my writing style in German is very poor.
I'm a Leon 1.6 16V owner, and one of my main complaints is that when you want to start to drive away, the adjustment is such that it reduces the supply of petrol. This either makes the car slow, and in some cases even means that the car turns off.
Our garage, which is very helpfull, already searched for the problem, but no obvious problems can be detected. They are aware that for some motors (AUT type), a "Steuergerät" is required, but the importer claims it is not needed for our motor type (AUS type). Does anyone have any experience on this?
Does anyone have a picture of the horse power and Nm as function of the cycles of the 1.6 16V motor (especially when it is connected to the adjustment loop)?
W.r.t. all "Mängel" in this list, I would be very interested to see whether some of the problems are related to the fabric of the car. Our car is made in Belgium (you can see it in the chassis number), whereas other cars are made in Spain.
Other problems I have are lousy radio reception (they've added an antenne amplifier without succes), and some noise from the back couch.
Despite the problems, we're very satisfied with the car.
Grussen,
Marc
