ABS warning light and strange noise

Hi,

I have just arrived home after a short drive. At a around 500 meters aways from where I live the ABS warning light turned on. Due to the short distance I decided to drive home to check what is wrong.

Once I parked the car in front of my house and stopped the engine a weird mechanic sound kept going. I had to remove one of the cable from the battery to make it stop. The sound is produced by a small black tube. A picture of it can be found here: http://members.home.nl/e.biemold/abs.JPG

Does anybody here know if this part is related to the ABS system and if it is the part that will be replaced in the "ABS-Rückrufaktion"?

Last time I visited my garage they told they will soon call me for the ABS-Rückrufaktion.

The Leon I have is a 1.6 16V Sport MJ 2002

also nachdem google.de mir das einigermaßen von englisch nach deutsch übersetzt hat was du für ein problem hast ;-))

nein das hängt nicht mit der rückrufaktion zusammen...
das teil was du eingerahmt hast ist eine kombination aus ABS-Steuergerät und "Bremsverteilung" auf hinterachse und vorderachse.

Sollten die geräusche WIRKLICH davon kommen rate ich dir nicht mehr mit dem Fahrzeug zu fahren und es per Abschlepp-LKW holen zu lassen!

I was already affraid that it would be a serious problem. On monday I will call the garage to ask them what to do next.

My seat is now 13 months old and the list of problems I have had sofar with it is getting a bit long now

Untill now this have been repaired replaced:
- switch for rearwindow heating
- switch for external lights
- servo of the backdoor
- the computer
- water in the doors

Ps. those that want to reply can do it in German if they prefer

My Leon has been fixed again 8)

After calling the garage I drove my car there on monday in the afternoon. They were not able to solve the problem at one day so I had to wait till today to get my Leon back

The problem was related to the rückrufaktion.
